More Nutritious Staple Crops to Fight Malnutrition in Pakistan (in Urdu)
HarvestPlus Senior Communications Specialist Vidushi Sinha was live on air yesterday on the Voice of America’s Pakistan flagship show, VOA 360. The show airs on AAJ TV, a 24/7 TV news channel in Pakistan.
Sinha was interviewed by anchor Sarah Zaman for one of the show’s segments featuring malnutrition. She was invited to talk about the work of HarvestPlus and partners in Pakistan and spoke about our program on zinc wheat in the country and the impending vitamin A maize in trial fields. Both crops are conventionally bred.
Sinha also highlighted our collaboration with the government and research organizations in Pakistan. She specifically pointed to the role of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and the NARS (National Agriculture Research Systems), and gave a shout out to HarvestPlus’s country manager, Qadir Baloch.
