Three years ago, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina predicted the transformative impact of biofortified crops. Today, that impact is being felt around the world, from Bangladesh to Zimbabwe. More than 50 countries have either released or are testing biofortified crops, and 20 million people are already growing and consuming these more nutritious varieties of their staple food crops.

What’s more, consumers are experiencing the nutritional benefits of biofortified crops. These crops are efficaciously delivering the nutrients they promise, fighting and reversing micronutrient deficiencies, curbing common childhood infections, and improving bodily functions.
