HarvestPlus estimated the number of people eating the biofortified food available on farms and from markets (off-farm) in 13 countries in 2022 and 2023.

It is estimated that in 2023 the biofortified food available in markets was enough to be eaten by over 227 million people; in addition, more than 103 million people were eating biofortified foods they grew on their own farms—bringing the total reach of biofortified foods to 330 million people across 13 African and Asian countries.
