Dr. Md. Khairul Bashar
Dr. Md. Khairul Bashar has been the HarvestPlus Country Manager for Bangladesh since 2013. Before joining HarvestPlus, he worked with the International Rice Research Institute as a consultant for the Sustainable Rice Seed Production and Dissemination Systems for Bangladesh project. Prior to that, he was with the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute for 33 years in different capacities as an experienced rice breeder and a seed system specialist, retiring as Director for Research. Dr. Bashar developed a Nationwide Rice Seed Network for quick delivery of quality seed to farmers. He obtained a second Masters degree from the UPLB, Philippines and a doctorate from BSMRAU Bangladesh. He is the author of over one hundred publications in national and international journals, including book chapters.
