The HarvestPlus Impact Research Unit will present the impact of biofortification during a panel session at the 5th International Conference of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE). Some 450-500 agricultural economists are expected to attend the conference, which runs September 23-26 in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. HarvestPlus’ invited panel session is scheduled for September 25.

Titled “From Implementation to Impact:  Targeting, Testing and Measuring Biofortification Interventions,” the panel will include presentations on the key research questions, methodology and results from various studies implemented throughout Africa.

The 5th International Conference of AAAE will take place in Addis Ababa under the theme “Transforming Smallholder Agriculture in Africa: The Role of Policy and Governance.” It will bring together agricultural economists from academia, industry, government, non-governmental organizations, and farming communities from around the world. The conference is held triennially.
