Policy Briefs

These briefs were written consultatively with key policy and program stakeholders at the country level. Biofortification policy is still at a nascent stage in many countries although inclusion of biofortification as a broad area of focus is in place across nearly twenty National Agriculture and Nutrition Policies. In four countries country consultants with domain expertise reviewed relevant policies and regulations and met with over 35-40 government and private sector stakeholders, obtaining perceptions on biofortification and its opportunities and constraints as also priority recommendations for scaling biofortification. These were then collated in the following briefs. Engagement with country governments on the basis of these briefs have continued with strong shifts in addressing recommendations already noted in India, Malawi, Nigeria, and Uganda.
