HarvestPlus is pleased to announce the appointment of Ina Schonberg as Deputy Director of Programs, a new position based in Washington, DC.
Schonberg previously worked with FHI 360 in Washington, DC, where she managed components of the Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance (FANTA) project. She has also worked as a senior advisor for the International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies, as a senior associate for the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), and as associate vice president and senior policy advisor for Save the Children. Earlier in her career, Schonberg also worked in microfinance and auditing with Catholic Relief Services and in relationship management with Citibank.
“Her well-rounded set of skills and varied experiences will be a strong asset to HarvestPlus as we move forward with scaling up biofortified nutritious crops globally,” says HarvestPlus Director Howarth Bouis. Schonberg has a Master’s degree in International Affairs, specializing in economic and political development, from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in international management, from Boston University.
