The Nutritious Food Fair (NFF), now in its 10th edition, is a key platform created by HarvestPlus to promote the breeding, production, marketing, and consumption of nutritious foods in Nigeria. This two-day annual event brings together stakeholders from the nutritious food sector, including policymakers, researchers, farmers, and food processors, to showcase innovations, share updates, and discuss emerging issues in the biofortified crops and food sector.

This year’s edition will feature the unveiling of the National Biofortification Steering Committee, a dedicated advocacy group for biofortification in Nigeria, comprising senior government directors and permanent secretaries from national and state governments.

With the theme “Sustainable Food Systems: Our Collective Responsibility”, the 2024 NFF is being co-hosted by HarvestPlus, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), the Office of the First Lady of Niger State (through the Niger State Ministry of Agriculture), the Niger Foods Initiative, and in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Food Safety, as well as the Federal Ministry of Health.

The 10th NFF aims to inspire collective action to transform Nigeria’s food systems into more nutritious and climate-resilient, aligning with the UN’s call for action. The fair is expected to attract over 150 commercial exhibitors, senior government officials from Niger State and beyond, key private sector players, and more than 5,000 participants. The event will take place on December 10–11, 2024.
