It packs a powerful nutritional punch, providing children with all the vitamin A that their bodies need each day. It has won the prestigious World Food Prize and been declared one of the most innovative ways to feed the planet. Now orange sweet potato (OSP) has made it into TIME magazine’s list of the 25 best inventions of 2016.
This Thanksgiving season, HarvestPlus would like to salute everybody at the root of this remarkable crop’s success—from scientists at the International Potato Center (CIP) to local and international promoters in the countries that have adopted it. Together, we hope to spread the goodness of OSP and other biofortified nutritious crops to a billion people globally by 2030.
