Penina Muoki has managed nutrition sensitive agriculture projects that apply a market led value chain approach for over 20 years. Since 2019, she has been working for HarvestPlus managing projects that promote biofortified high iron beans, pro-vitamin A maize and orange sweetpotato in Kenya and Tanzania. Before joining HarvestPlus, she worked with the Ministry of Agriculture-Kenya, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture-Mozambique and Malawi, and the International Potato Center-Kenya. Penina holds a Bsc, majoring in Rural development from Maseno University, Kenya, a MSC in Food Science and Post-harvest Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya and a Ph.D in Food Science from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
