HarvestPlus, working with UK’s DFID, FAO, CIMMYT and the Zimbabwean Government, is using its extensive knowledge and experience to transfer the technology of biofortification to smallholder farmers. In Zimbabwe, 20 percent of children under five suffer from Vitamin A deficiency and one out of every three children is anemic. Nutritionally enhanced maize seeds–Zimbabwe’s staple crop–and iron and zinc enriched beans have been released to address the country’s micronutrient deficiency.

We invite you to listen to our HarvestPlus Zimbabwe country team along with our Africa Regional Manager for Partnership Countries Lister Tiwirai Katsvairo on Capitalk’s “Deep Dive.”
