Getting Nutritious Foods to People: Global Consultation Slated for Spring 2014
The Second Global Conference on Biofortification titled ‘Getting Nutritious Foods to People’ will take place from March 31 to April 2, 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda.
Planned as a consultation, it will bring stakeholders from government, business and civil society to work together to include biofortification in programs, policies and marketing. Howarth Bouis, the Director of HarvestPlus, explains why this consultation is opportune– and necessary–in the short video below.
The consultation will be an interactive forum to engage and learn from researchers and policymakers, farmers and businesspeople alike. Among the keynote speakers will be Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, renowned agricultural scientist and leader of India’s green revolution, and Dr. Chris Elias, President of the Global Development Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
