Please join HarvestPlus, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the African Leaders for Nutrition for this first webinar in a series on progress and prospects for staple crop biofortification in Africa. The aim of these webinars are to:

  • Highlight the achievements in the production of nutritious foods through biofortification in Africa. 
  • Share experiences with multi-sectoral nutrition programming and nutrition smart investments in Africa, with a focus on biofortification. 
  • Discuss ways forward to promoting production of nutritious and healthy foods through biofortification in Africa. 

In so doing, the webinars will raise awareness on the need to address micronutrient deficiency among children under five years and women of reproductive age; rromote inclusion of nutrition goals into the food transformation agenda; and raise the profile of biofortification as a sustainable means of promoting access to nutritious foods.
