HarvestPlus Is Awarded $15 Million Grant from MacArthur Foundation
HarvestPlus is proud to announce it has been awarded $15 million as one of the finalists in the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s 100&Change competition. This global challenge has sought bold solutions to critical problems of our time, and this award recognizes HarvestPlus for its work on a solution to one of the world’s greatest problems—hidden hunger.
Thanks to 100&Change, we will be able to reach more families with biofortification, giving children the opportunity to live, learn and grow to their full potential. HarvestPlus will use the $15 million grant to scale up our operations and the delivery of biofortified seeds, ensuring that more communities will have access to crops that are more nutritious, resilient and high yielding—improving health and boosting economic development.
HarvestPlus congratulates its fellow awardees, and in particular Sesame Workshop and the International Rescue Committee, which have been granted the $100 million prize.
We are grateful to all of our staff and partners around the world for making this success possible.
