The multidisciplinary nature of HarvestPlus requires a comprehensive communications strategy to engage a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
HarvestPlus communicates with a range of audiences to build support for biofortification. These audiences include the public, stakeholders and experts in the fields of agriculture, nutrition and public policy. Audiences are targeted through a wide variety of means including print, web, events, workshops and media. The multidisciplinary and international nature of HarvestPlus poses special challenges in intra-program communications that are addressed through a virtual communications "Hub". Communications also supports "Reaching End User" efforts engage enablers in policy arenas in target regions to promote adoption and consumption of biofortfied foods.
